The courageous first step into the unknown is the very same one toward growth.&nbsp;Evelyn Ramli began her journey striding into the unfamiliar world of content creation amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. What was intended to be a simple outlet for creativity would eventually blossom into a thriving platform, accumulating over 65K followers across TikTok and Instagram. Through her exploration of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle in her videos, Evelyn has dedicated countless hours to captivating millions of viewers across the world.<img src="https://api.afterschool.com.my/storage/uploads/images/67b82b3cd3c87_1740122940.jpg" alt="" width="560" height="294" />Yet, the same willingness to embrace the unknown has propelled her even further, leading her to Indonesia, where she assumes roles as both a marketing specialist and a teacher. Deviating from the lucrative career path she has worked tirelessly to build as a content creator, Evelyn strives to search for personal fulfilment. With zero formal background in marketing and welcoming a world of uncertainties ahead, Evelyn&rsquo;s story is a testament to the growth that comes when we dare to push beyond the familiar.Childhood: Finding a Home in UnfamiliarityEvelyn&rsquo;s early life was marked by movement, adaptation, and a search for belonging. Born to Indonesian roots, Evelyn spent her first few years in Jakarta before moving to Qatar, where she often felt like an outsider. &ldquo;I didn&rsquo;t know a lot of people there. I was pretty much the only Asian,&rdquo; she remembers. With these feelings of displacement and alienation, books became Evelyn&rsquo;s sanctuary, igniting a lifelong passion for reading and storytelling. &ldquo;I found a lot of comfort in reading rather than talking to people who weren&rsquo;t always kind to me.&rdquo;&nbsp;<img src="https://api.afterschool.com.my/storage/uploads/images/67b82bf02769d_1740123120.png" alt="" width="560" height="842" />At age 12, Evelyn&rsquo;s family moved to Malaysia, further underscoring the ever-nomadic nature of her life. She spent her adolescent years assimilating to yet another culture, navigating primary and secondary school in a foreign environment. Grappling with the challenges of fitting in, Evelyn found solace in creative pursuits that allowed her to express herself in ways she couldn't always do socially. Her passion for writing solidified early on, initially inspired by a teacher who complimented one of her short stories. &ldquo; He was so specific about the parts he liked, and I remember being so touched. It made me think, maybe I could be a writer.&rdquo; Through the accumulation of moments like these, she understood the gratification that creation and creativity brought her. From Lockdown Creativity to Campus ConfidenceWhen the pandemic hit, the world grounded to a halt. Like many others, Evelyn sought a way to channel her creativity amidst the immense restrictions of the lockdowns. &ldquo;I started making videos as a way to pass the time,&rdquo; she recalls. In the beginning, Evelyn dedicated herself to posting up to four videos a day, experimenting with different niches and honing her skills through trial and error. As Evelyn&rsquo;s understanding of her niche and the art of video-making grew, so did her audience. &ldquo; At first, I didn&rsquo;t understand the numbers. I saw the views and the followers, but I never connected them to real people. Evelyn recalls the first time she was approached at university as &ldquo;weird, amazing, and intimidating.&rdquo;&nbsp; When pandemic restrictions eased, campus life at The University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNMC) opened new doors for Evelyn&rsquo;s personal and academic growth. She naturally pursued a degree in English Literature, a decision rooted in both her passion for the subject and her appreciation for the university&rsquo;s serene campus. &ldquo; The location felt perfect. I loved the nature, the lake, and the calm environment. I knew I&rsquo;d be able to focus there, away from the distractions of city life.&rdquo;&nbsp;<img src="https://api.afterschool.com.my/storage/uploads/images/67b82c2e97c41_1740123182.png" alt="" width="560" height="841" />After being locked in for 2 years, Evelyn embraced every opportunity to make the most of her remaining student life. She joined Particle, the university&rsquo;s literary magazine, where she grew from junior poetry editor to co-editor-in-chief in her final year. &ldquo;Being part of Particle helped me connect with the creative side of myself. I loved the process of bringing writing to life and working with a team to share stories.&rdquo; Evelyn&rsquo;s ambitions extended beyond the written word. Not content with remaining behind the scenes, she also stepped into public-facing roles, becoming an emcee at university concerts and book launches outside school. &ldquo; At first, I was terrified, especially for events where my classmates would see me. But I realised that the things that scared me the most often turned out to be the most rewarding.&rdquo;<blockquote>For Evelyn, these years were pivotal. From discovering content creation during lockdown to refining her creative voice through literature, leadership, and public speaking, every step helped her grow. &ldquo; The pandemic gave me time to explore something new, and campus life gave me the confidence to take it further.&rdquo;</blockquote>From Influencer to Educator: A Journey of ReinventionEvelyn&rsquo;s pandemic experiment soon evolved into a flourishing business, her followers growing to the tens of thousands. Her presence in the social media world earned her brand deals and recognition that showcased the surprising profitability of the influencer world. &ldquo;I never imagined I could make five times what I earned tutoring just from creating content,&rdquo; she admits. But alongside the rewards came significant challenges.<img src="https://api.afterschool.com.my/storage/uploads/images/67b82c5db483a_1740123229.png" alt="" width="560" height="840" />The more time Evelyn devoted to making videos, the more she unveiled the many misconceptions of being an influencer. &ldquo;People think it&rsquo;s not a real job or that it&rsquo;s easy, but the competition is intense, and the pressure to constantly innovate can be overwhelming.&rdquo; Burnout followed as her focus shifted from creativity to analytics: chasing views, engagement, and perfection. Eventually, she took a step back to realign her content with her values, transitioning from beauty and skincare to themes of personal growth and work-life balance. &ldquo;I want my content to reflect who I am now, even if it means letting go of what&rsquo;s familiar.&rdquo;&nbsp;Coinciding with this period of self-reflection, Evelyn was met with a bold new opportunity. She travelled back to her homeland, Indonesia, to pursue work in both marketing and teaching (the former in which she has had no prior experience or formal training in). The transition was daunting for her, leaving behind a path of comfort and familiarity, moving yet again to another country, and doing work she had little experience in.&nbsp;Being the sole marketing strategist for the growing math enrichment centre Seriously Addictive Maths, Evelyn&rsquo;s responsibilities range from managing campaigns and partnerships to organising large-scale events. &ldquo;I&rsquo;ve had to learn everything on the job, and it&rsquo;s been both exciting and overwhelming.&rdquo; Evelyn&rsquo;s journey in marketing has taught her the power of storytelling and community building: two important keys to creating authentic marketing campaigns, and, in turn effective. Evelyn also stresses the importance of word-of-mouth marketing, identifying it as &ldquo;the highest form of conversion&rdquo;. In her work, she has learned to find a balance between meeting audience expectations while staying true to her evolving passions, ensuring her job stays meaningful.Alternatively, her work as an English teacher at I CAN READ has offered a counterbalance to the pressures of marketing. Evelyn found unexpected joy and satisfaction in planning lessons, building connections with students, and watching their growth. Interestingly, being a teacher has helped her with marketing. Evelyn has a more thorough understanding of education and what it takes to advertise it authentically. Beyond anything, teaching has given Evelyn the sense of certainly that she has often struggled to find. &ldquo;Teaching has been such a comfort; it&rsquo;s something I feel I can fall back on when everything else feels uncertain.&rdquo; While these new roles are less lucrative than making content for big-name brands on social media, Evelyn prioritises the growth that they provide. &ldquo;I don&rsquo;t need as much money right now, and I feel more fulfilled knowing that I&rsquo;m exploring work I&rsquo;ve always been curious about,&rdquo; she explains. Her career pivot represents a desire that goes beyond a higher paycheck, a desire to create something meaningful and sustainable.&nbsp;Dare to Evolve: Advice, Aspirations, and GrowthIn a life shaped by movement and change, Evelyn Ramli&rsquo;s journey is rooted in one simple philosophy: &ldquo;Do what scares you the most. That&rsquo;s where growth happens.&rdquo; From starting content creation during the pandemic to moving to Indonesia for new professional roles, she has consistently embraced fear as a catalyst for transformation. Public speaking gigs and unfamiliar challenges once terrified her, but each leap proved to be a stepping stone toward confidence and fulfilment.<img src="https://api.afterschool.com.my/storage/uploads/images/67b82cac0b009_1740123308.png" alt="" width="560" height="708" />When asked about future ambitions, Evelyn envisions a self-described &ldquo;lazy-girl job&rdquo;, characterised by balancing financial stability with personal joy. &ldquo;Right now, I&rsquo;m in what I&rsquo;d call my hustle era: working hard and exploring different jobs I&rsquo;ve always been curious about. A &lsquo;lazy-girl job&rsquo; doesn&rsquo;t mean I don&rsquo;t work hard. It&rsquo;s about finding something fulfilling and stable that doesn&rsquo;t drain me completely.&rdquo; The pursuit of this aspiration underlies a deeply personal goal: reconnecting with her parents and making up for the years spent apart, showing them the love and care they deserve.Evelyn&rsquo;s journey unveils the courage to evolve and redefine, underscoring that &ldquo;fear is not a stop sign, it&rsquo;s an invitation to grow.&rdquo; By stepping into discomfort and pursuing what scares her, Evelyn has turned challenges into opportunities, reminding us all that growth begins at the edge of our comfort zones.

How are bright futures formed?&nbsp; The foundation for an empowering tomorrow often lies in the small yet transformative moments of learning and growth. Ashley Loh came to this pivotal realisation early, during a short stint working at a childcare centre. Amidst the laughter, boundless curiosity and inspiring creativity, Ashley understood the transformative power of education.<img src="https://api.afterschool.com.my/storage/uploads/images/67b8353aea62e_1740125498.jpg" alt="" width="560" height="294" />Today, Ashley works as a special needs educator, dedicating her livelihood to supporting children with autism, ADHD and other learning differences. Her role in the classroom goes far beyond teaching: it's about creating safe spaces where children can flourish and discover their unique potential. From navigating a psychology degree to unveiling the fulfilment that comes with helping the differently abled, Ashley&rsquo;s journey is a poignant reminder of the beauty that finding meaning in unexpected places and embracing the hardships helping others can bring.Discovering a Passion for Working with ChildrenAshley&rsquo;s passion for working with children bloomed early in her life. Before going to university, Ashley had the opportunity to work at a childcare centre for two months, an experience that left a profound impact. &ldquo;I knew I liked communicating with kids,&rdquo; Ashley recalled. &ldquo; These formative years are where we grow and change the most, so it was fascinating to see how simple things, like words, are learnt for the first time.&rdquo; What struck Ashley most during this period was the joy that children bring into the world, a quality that often diminishes as people get older. &ldquo; There&rsquo;s so much joy that kids have. It&rsquo;s something we lose as adults, but being around them reminded me of how exciting it is to learn and discover things for the first time.&rdquo; For Ashley, there was a unique magic in the early years of a child&rsquo;s life: the rapid growth, the excitement for life and the endless possibilities for potential. It was here, in those moments of shared discovery, that she realised how fulfilling it could be to play a role in their learning journey. &ldquo;I loved seeing how they changed and grew. It&rsquo;s amazing to be even a small part of that.&rdquo;Ashley&rsquo;s short-lived experience at the childcare centre planted the seed for her future, sparking a sincere interest in child development that would mould her life and career.Finding PsychologyPursuing a degree in Psychology wasn't always part of Ashley's plan. She initially had her eyes set on studying the arts, unsure of what she truly wanted to do. But it was a psychology course she took during college that captured her imagination. &ldquo; It was the most interesting subject I had because it talked about experiments and how people work,&rdquo; she said. &ldquo;I realised I really love learning about people.&rdquo;<img src="https://api.afterschool.com.my/storage/uploads/images/67b8361444a1f_1740125716.png" alt="" width="560" height="457" />Ashley's passion for the human mind stems from her love for biology, her favourite subject in secondary school. &ldquo;I loved learning how the body works, and psychology felt like the next step: understanding how the mind works,&rdquo; she explained. Fascinated by the connection between physical processes and mental behaviour, combined with the support of her parents, Ashley was driven to explore the field.&nbsp; While Ashley was still uncertain about her career path, there was always one certainty about her future: she wanted to work with people. &ldquo;I wasn&rsquo;t planning every detail, but I knew I wanted to understand people&mdash;and that&rsquo;s why I was sure about Psychology.&rdquo;Shaping her Path with The University of Nottingham&nbsp; After completing her AUSMAT at Sunway College, Ashley chose to pursue her degree at The University of Nottingham Malaysia for its strong psychology programme and well-designed campus, which felt like the right environment to embark on the next stage of her studies.&nbsp; The early days of her degree coincided with the pandemic, which meant online classes and limited interaction with peers. &ldquo; It was really hard,&rdquo; Ashley recalled. &ldquo;I&rsquo;m very extroverted, so being stuck at home and not meeting people was tough. Even group projects felt impersonal; we were just talking on microphones without seeing each other&rsquo;s faces.&rdquo; Yet, the isolation she felt during this period marked a significant turning point.&nbsp;Being locked in and closed off from the world for so long left Ashley longing for a new adventure. This desire was soon satiated when she participated in an exchange programme at the Univerity of Nottingham UK campus. The programme became a defining moment in her university life, offering her the chance to build new connections and rediscover her confidence. &ldquo; The exchange taught me so much about being independent and navigating new environments. It&rsquo;s one of my core memories from university."Among her most memorable modules were those on autism and memory, areas that piqued her interest in further understanding human behaviour. For her final year project, Ashley centred her research around autobiographical memory, diving into how past experiences play a significant role in our perception of the future. She credited her professor, Steve Jensen, for formulating an enriching learning experience. &ldquo; He was amazing. He specialised in memory and guided us so well, from weekly progress meetings to explaining concepts in a way that just clicked.&rdquo;Embracing both the hardships and exciting opportunities her time at Nottingham presented, Ashley not only shaped her academic interests but also created avenues for personal growth, providing much-needed clarity for the career she wanted to pursue. From Academia to a Career in Special Needs EducationThe path to becoming a special needs educator was carved with both intention and conviction. In the classroom, subjects relating to special needs and autism captured her attention beyond surface-level intrigue; it was in these moments of deep captivation that the seed of assuming the virtuous role was first planted. &nbsp;&ldquo;I wanted to do something meaningful and hands-on. I realised that a traditional desk job doesn't appeal to me."<img src="https://api.afterschool.com.my/storage/uploads/images/67b837a596738_1740126117.png" alt="" width="560" height="846" />Beyond the lecture halls, long and thoughtful conversations with peers who had experience working with the differently-abled further helped her explore and understand her aspirations. &ldquo;A lot of my classmates had experiences in this area and shared their stories: both the challenges and the rewards,&rdquo; Ashley explained. These accounts, combined with her understanding of and inherent interest in the necessary theory, gave her the confidence to pursue a career path that would intimidate many.Today, Ashley works as a teacher at Brain Connection, a learning centre in Petaling Jaya dedicated to providing an attentive and thoughtful educational experience to children and teenagers with special needs. This opportunity has helped her unveil many profound insights about the profession and, more importantly, herself. &nbsp;"I&rsquo;ve learned how hard it is to be a parent. The sheer amount of patience, diligence and love required to raise a child with unique needs are quite moving.&rdquo; She also noted the importance of celebrating small victories. &ldquo;Even the tiniest milestones, like learning a new word or expressing an emotion, feel huge. Those moments of fulfilment outweigh the difficulties.&rdquo; As any good educator, Ashley has found value in her students&rsquo; unique strengths and learning preferences. &ldquo;Every child is different, and that&rsquo;s what makes the work so rewarding: you&rsquo;re constantly learning how to adapt and connect with each of them in their own way.&rdquo; Every student in Ashley&rsquo;s classroom represents a distinctive area for fulfilment in her heart, all contributing in their own ways to what makes this job worth doing.&nbsp;Looking Ahead and AdviceAshley&rsquo;s dedication to supporting children with special needs on their educational journeys remains unwavering. Whether through building her skills in education, deepening her knowledge in psychology, or expanding her reach, she will continue to trek a path that is as righteous as it is fulfilling. While Ashley acknowledges the difficulties that come with her job, she recognises the gratification that struggle can often bring with it. &ldquo;Every experience, even the difficult ones, has taught me something valuable,&rdquo; she said. &ldquo; It&rsquo;s not always easy, but the rewards make it all worthwhile.&rdquo;<img src="https://api.afterschool.com.my/storage/uploads/images/67b8380ae6bf2_1740126218.png" alt="" width="560" height="416" />To those considering a similar path, Ashley has some words of encouragement: &ldquo; It&rsquo;s okay not to have everything figured out right away. What&rsquo;s important is to stay open to the journey and trust in the process.&rdquo; In a life covered in uncertainties (as all are), one thing is certain for Ashley: she will tenaciously commit to improving the lives of her students and their families, one milestone at a time.

So, you're considering studying medicine in Malaysia, but aren't quite sure which path to take? Whether you want to stay local the whole way, head overseas partway through, or get a foreign degree right here at home, this guide will help you explore all the recognised options out there. We&rsquo;ve listed all the major institutions offering medicine and grouped them into three main pathways:<ul><li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Local private universities</li><li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Twinning or credit-transfer programmes</li><li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Foreign branch campuses in Malaysia</li></ul>Each option includes key information, such as clinical hospital partners and estimated tuition fees, so you don&rsquo;t have to dig for it! <h1>Understanding the Programmes: MBBS and MD</h1>First things first, understanding the programme. Most private medical schools in Malaysia offer either an MBBS or an MD. Both are five-year undergraduate degrees that include pre-clinical studies and clinical training. MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) is the more common title and is awarded by most private universities such as IMU, MAHSA, and Taylor&rsquo;s. MD (Doctor of Medicine) is awarded by some universities instead, often following a similar structure. In Malaysia, it is not a postgraduate degree like in the United States. So why does this matter? Knowing the difference helps you avoid confusion later on, especially if you&rsquo;re planning to work or pursue postgraduate training abroad. It also ensures you&rsquo;re not misled by the title; both degrees carry the same recognition in Malaysia, as long as they&rsquo;re accredited by the Malaysian Medical Council.&nbsp;<h1>Local Private Universities (MBBS/ MD Fully in Malaysia)</h1>These are private institutions where you complete your entire MBBS programme within Malaysia. Clinical years are done in local hospitals (either government or university-affiliated).<div class="table-responsive" style="padding: 20px; background-color: #2e0176; border-radius: 25px;"><table style="min-width: 700px; box-shadow: 0 4px 8px rgba(0,0,0,0.1); border-collapse: collapse; width: 100%;"><tbody><tr style="color: white;"><th style="min-width: 150px;">University</th><th>Local Student Tuition Fees (Estimated)</th><th>International Student Tuition Fees (Estimated)</th><th>Clinical Hospitals / Training Sites</th></tr><tr><td>International Medical University (IMU)</td><td>RM 597,500 </td><td>RM 672,500</td><td>Hospital Tuanku Ja&rsquo;afar, Hospital Batu Pahat, others in Negeri Sembilan and Johor</td></tr><tr><td>UCSI University</td><td>RM 420,650 </td><td>RM 501,300</td><td>UCSI Hospital (Springhill), Hospital Tuanku Ja&rsquo;afar</td></tr><tr><td>Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR)</td><td>RM 278,250</td><td>Programme Not Available for International Students</td><td>UTAR Hospital (Kampar)</td></tr><tr><td>MAHSA University</td><td>RM 377,650</td><td>RM 449,450</td><td>Hospital Sungai Buloh, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Hospital Tanjung Karang, various Klinik Kesihatan</td></tr><tr><td>SEGi University</td><td>RM 339,050</td><td>RM 341,050</td><td>Sibu Hospital (Sarawak)</td></tr><tr><td>AIMST University</td><td>RM 319,850</td><td>RM 386,850</td><td>Hospital Sungai Buloh, Hospital Kuala Lumpur</td></tr><tr><td>Taylor&rsquo;s University</td><td>RM 422,690</td><td>USD 106,264</td><td>Hospital Sungai Buloh, Hospital Bentong, Hospital Muadzam Shah, Hospital Kuala Kangsar, Klinik Kesihatan Rawang and others</td></tr><tr><td>Manipal University College Malaysia (MUCM)</td><td>RM 375,000</td><td>USD 90,000</td><td>Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan (Kuantan), Pekan Hospital, Clinics under the Ministry of Health (KKM)</td></tr><tr><td>MSU &ndash; International Medical School (IMS)</td><td>RM 295,000 - RM 395,000</td><td>RM 546,000</td><td>Hospital Shah Alam, Hospital Sungai Buloh, and Hospital Klang</td></tr><tr><td>Quest International University (QIU)</td><td>RM 330,000</td><td>RM 330,000</td><td>Perak General Hospitals, such as GH Ipoh, Taiping, Teluk Intan, Bahagia, and government clinics, as well</td></tr><tr><td>Widad University College</td><td>RM 320,000</td><td>RM 394,750</td><td>Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan Kuantan,&nbsp;</td></tr><tr><td>University of Cyberjaya</td><td>RM 350,000&nbsp;</td><td>RM 380,000</td><td>Putrajaya Hospital, Kuala Lumpur Hospital, Serdang Hospital, and Cyberjaya Hospital</td></tr><tr><td>UniSHAMS</td><td>RM 255,260</td><td>RM 305,206</td><td>Kulim Hospital, Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital, and Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah</td></tr><tr><td>Sunway University, in partnership with UKM</td><td>RM 471,000</td><td>RM 471,000</td><td>Sunway Medical Centre</td></tr><tr><td>Lincoln University College</td><td>RM 315,000</td><td>&nbsp;</td><td>&nbsp;</td></tr></tbody></table></div> All these programmes are MMC-accredited, meaning graduates are eligible to register with the Malaysian Medical Council and begin their housemanship training in local hospitals.&nbsp; When exploring medical study options, it&rsquo;s important to consider where you&rsquo;ll be placed for clinical training. These placements (often lasting up to three years) play a major role in shaping your practical experience, exposure to real-world cases, and future job prospects.&nbsp;&nbsp;<h1>Twinning or Credit Transfer Programmes</h1>This pathway allows you to begin your degree in Malaysia and then complete it overseas. You do your pre-clinical years here, then transfer to a partner university for clinical training and graduation.&nbsp; Final qualifications are awarded by the foreign university.<div class="table-responsive" style="margin: 20px;"><table style="min-width: 700px; background-color: #ffffff; box-shadow: 0 4px 8px rgba(0,0,0,0.1); border-collapse: collapse; width: 100%;"><tbody><tr><th style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">Malaysian Institution</th><th style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">Overseas Partner(s)</th><th style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">Total Local Student Tuition Fees (Estimated)</th><th style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">Total International Student Tuition Fees (Estimated)</th></tr><tr><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">IMU</td><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">UK</td><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">RM 1,040,449 - RM 1,471,225</td><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">RM 1,077,949 - RM 1,508,725</td></tr><tr><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">IMU</td><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">Australia</td><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">RM 816,250 - RM 1,022,091</td><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">RM 853,750 - RM 1,1,059,591</td></tr><tr><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">IMU</td><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">Malta</td><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">RM 861,250</td><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">RM 898,750</td></tr><tr><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">IMU</td><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">New Zealand</td><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">RM 1,076,242</td><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">RM 1,113,742</td></tr><tr><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">MSU-IMS</td><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">Bangalore (India)</td><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">RM 295,000 - RM 395,000</td><td style="border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 10px;">(Not currently available to International Students)</td></tr></tbody></table></div> In most IMU twinning programmes, the Phase 1 (in Malaysia) duration is 2.5 years, followed by Phase 2 (clinical training) abroad, which has a 2.5-3 year duration. Certification is awarded by the partner university where students complete their degree. Many graduates go on to do their housemanship in their respective countries, which can improve their chances of securing work there, though this depends on local policies and is not guaranteed.&nbsp; Alternatively, most programmes are MMC-accredited (with a few exceptions), allowing students to return to Malaysia for housemanship if they choose. Visit MMC&rsquo;s official website for the official list of recognised institutions. For MSU&rsquo;s twinning programme with its Bangalore campus, students complete Phase 1 in Malaysia over a period of two years, followed by Phase 2 in Bangalore over a three-year period.&nbsp; Graduates are required to return to Malaysia for their housemanship. <h1>Foreign Medical Branch Campuses in Malaysia</h1>These are Malaysian campuses of international medical schools. At the same time, all three programs are fully recognised by the MMC, ensuring that students can complete their housemanship in Malaysia and register as doctors locally. <h1>Final Notes</h1>Choosing the right medical pathway isn&rsquo;t just about cost or location; it&rsquo;s about finding the best fit for your future. Whether you're aiming to practice in Malaysia or abroad, this guide highlights the key factors every student and parent should consider: accreditation, clinical training, total cost, and global recognition. As you narrow down your options, remember that your clinical years will shape much of your hands-on experience. Where you&rsquo;re placed can influence the cases you see, the mentors you meet, and ultimately, the doctor you become. Take the time to ask the right questions, compare each route carefully, and stay informed. Medicine is a long journey, so starting with the right foundation makes all the difference.
