Advertising

Xiamen University is a pioneer in advertising education in China, having started in 1983. Our programme offers a comprehensive exploration of advertising, public relations, integrated marketing communications, branding, digital marketing, strategic communications, and event management.
Students gain hands-on experience through practical courses that simulate real-world scenarios and, when applicable, involve professional clients. They learn to combine critical and strategic thinking with research and creativity to deliver effective messages to targeted audiences on behalf of clients.
Every student has the opportunity to specialise in either the creative or account management side of the business after developing a strong foundation in both areas.
Our skills curriculum begins with broad training in mass communication and essential skills such as data analysis and visualisation. We believe our programme offers an unmatched blend of skills training, theoretical learning, and real-world practice.
As a result, our graduates leave as competent practitioners, critical thinkers, problem solvers, and innovators in the advertising industry.

The Chinese Studies programme is one of the earliest programmes established at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM). It has inherited the fine traditions of Xiamen University while benefiting from the expertise of faculty members from the Departments of History and Philosophy at the main campus.
Students gain both broad and in-depth knowledge of Chinese language, literature, history, philosophy, and culture, applying their learning in research and practical work. XMUM’s unique bilingual environment, using both English and Chinese, helps students develop cross-cultural communication skills and adapt to a multicultural society.
The programme actively organises academic and career-oriented lectures and has launched its own departmental journal, Yingming, along with a literary publication, Rushi. These initiatives broaden students’ academic perspectives and enhance their career readiness.
Graduates of the Chinese Studies programme have strong employment prospects in education, media, culture, and business. Academically, they have the option to pursue graduate studies at Xiamen University or other prestigious institutions in China and worldwide, including continuing their master’s or doctoral studies at XMUM.
