By: Anis Athirah Bt. Muhamad RazuhanafiWhat should I do following the SPM? Should I pursue a foundation or a diploma? These are just a few of the questions that students have after receiving their SPM results. Secondary students have entered a new phase after receiving their SPM results whereby they will be faced with the dilemma of which pathway to choose when furthering their studies. Worry not, it is actually the same dilemma that each student will get every time they finish their school. It may be overwhelming for some students to be faced with so many options; therefore, it is critical for each student to consider what works best for them. Overall, each programme is tailored to the specific learning needs of each student. Make your research on each programme you are interested in and you are good to go!Regardless of the other programmes available in Malaysia, pursuing a diploma programme has become one of the most appealing options for Malaysian students because it provides a higher qualification than pre-university or foundation programmes, and it can also be considered the equivalent of a first year degree.Have you heard that studying for a diploma after SPM is a quick way to enter the workforce? This is what "equivalent of a first-year degree" means, as you are qualified to work in any company after completing your diploma programme, as most employers nowadays accept diploma holders. Pre-university programmes prepare you for your degree so that you are job ready, whereas a diploma allows you to enter the workforce immediately after completion. Why is a diploma a quick way to enter the workforce when it takes much longer to graduate than a foundation? This is due to the fact that a diploma typically takes 2-3 years to complete and is often considered equivalent to the first year of a university degree. Meanwhile, a foundation course is a one-year programme that is one level below a diploma. Because diplomas have a longer study period, you'll end up learning far more subjects than a foundation course, which is designed to teach you only the fundamentals of your chosen degree. As a result, a diploma certificate can be used as a standalone credential, whereas a foundation qualification is typically used only as an entry requirement for a degree. It means that once students complete their foundation, they must progress to the next level of education, which is a degree programme, to make it a stand-alone credential for them to apply for work.If you have a limited budget for furthering your studies, diploma programmes are the way to go because they do not require you to complete a degree before working. INTEC Education College provides the quickest diploma track in Malaysia, which takes two years to complete. As a result, it is the quickest way to enter the workforce and can help alleviate the financial burden on students. Students can also receive a rebate when they register.INTEC Education College launched INTEC Shared Future in March 2022, an initiative to provide scholarships to orphans and the less fortunate pursuing diploma programmes. It is a community-giving initiative with the goal of allocating funds to projects with long-term and sustainable impacts. Those who enrol in any Diploma programme at INTEC Education College under the INTEC Shared Future (ISF) will be equipped with a wide range of skills and connected to industries for better career opportunities. Diploma in Business Management, Diploma in Public Governance, Diploma in Scientific Hala Practices, Diploma in Accounting, and Diploma in Islamic Finance are the five diploma programmes available. The best part is that it is an all-inclusive sponsorship. All you have to do is give it your all to achieve success! With so many additional benefits to pursuing a diploma, it's no surprise that an increasing number of students are choosing to study a diploma over a foundation course. However, keep in mind that your decision should be based on the field you intend to pursue and whether you require all of the benefits that a diploma can provide. Remember that you will be the one facing the study journey, so make an informed decision.

The Dilemma

By: Anis Athirah Bt. Muhamad RazuhanafiGoing to our dream university is such a dream come true. Most of us would agree that going to university is one of the most exciting experiences because you get to meet so many new people and gain so much new knowledge. It is also one of the most difficult times in our lives because it is usually our first extended period of living away from home. With the pandemic already in effect, going to campus may be unsettling because we are accustomed to spending long periods of time at home, where our parents manage everything. So, here are a few good tips to help you adapt to your new surroundings and begin your first year of university successfully.1.Make some new and good friends.Finding good friends is one of the most important things to do once you get into university because they will always be there for you during your studies. They are the ones who will motivate you, advise you, and influence you in any way. It is beneficial if you are good at making new friends. Universities are more than just places to learn. It is also a place where lifelong friendships are formed. As a result, it is important to socialise with your new colleagues, but make sure that it has a positive influence on you.2.Manage your time effectively.Time management is essential for maintaining a healthy study-life balance because it is easy to become distracted with everything, especially when your parents are not present to chastise you for not studying, doing laundry, spending too much time on social media, and other activities. You understand what I mean, don't you? As a result, making good friends is critical to assisting you with your studies. Set a goal to not engage in that behaviour during dedicated study time, no matter what is wasting your time. Instead, use those activities as a reward for remaining focused and completing the tasks at hand. By managing your time diligently, you can avoid procrastinating on your work, which can lead to stress and a variety of other stress-related health problems. Understand your priorities. You must remember that your parents have made numerous sacrifices to get you into universities, so it is important that you give them your success as a gift.3.Manage your financialAs soon as you begin your life at the university, you will realise that you will need to spend money on a variety of things, including food, books, means of transportation, essential items, and a great deal more. If you did not exercise responsible management of the money that was entrusted to you by your parents, you will be left destitute at the end of the month. When you get your monthly allowance from your parents, try not to get too excited to go shopping; instead, make sure that you properly manage your money. Figure out how to properly allocate your money by determining which payments are the most essential before making any others. When you make a budget and keep track of your spending habits, you gain visibility into how your monthly income is being spent and where you can make reductions in order to meet your financial goals. If you choose to live on a budget, this does not mean that you will never be able to have any fun; rather, it ensures that the fun you do have will not prevent you from being able to pay for your other essential things.4.Improve your communication skillsAre you more of a solitary person? Then, now is the time for you to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new. If you continue to live in your comfort zone, you will never achieve the level of success you desire. “You never change your life until you step out of your comfort zone; change begins at the end of your comfort zone.” - Roy T. Bennett. At university, you will interact with a wide variety of people from all over the world, in addition to those from your own country. This will give you the opportunity to learn about new cultures and gain new perspectives. Believe me when I say that you are not the only one who has experienced feelings of intimidation when in the company of someone like this; some of us might also experience feelings of discomfort when we are in their company. So, do not be afraid!. It can actually benefit you in the long run for your future career if you communicate with the other students, the lecturers, or even the staff there. This is what the industry refers to as networking. Talking to different people will allow you to pick up as much information as possible. If you don't use the English language very often in conversation, you should start doing so right away so that you will become accustomed to it and won't feel embarrassed when you do use it. Put out of your mind what other people think about you. If you think that what you are doing is something that will make your parents proud, then you should go ahead with it.After you have been accepted to the university of your dreams, you can put these important pieces of advice to use. Always take a moment to remind yourself why you are attending university, and never forget the sacrifices that your parents have made on your behalf to ensure that your primary motivation for attending university has not shifted. Going to college does not preclude one from having a social life or enjoying themselves in any way. Absolutely, so long as you don't shirk the responsibilities that come along with being a student and a child to your parents. You're free to go ahead and do it. Get plenty of rest, maintain a healthy diet, and keep active. You should strive to make the most of the time you spend learning at universities.

Surviving in University?

By: Siti Hajar Mohd ZulkifliThe exam process can never be stress-free. All of the preparation leading up to the big day, followed by the wait for the results, can be just as stressful as the exam itself. Despite the fact that we have only recently returned from vacation and are still in vacation mode, the end of the semester is rapidly approaching. That means tests and exams are on the way. It's impossible to get rid of them, whether you like them or not. Even though you'll never feel truly relieved during exam season, there are some strategies that can help you cope with stress and anxiety. The first step when it comes acing your test is to always review back what you have learnt in the classroom. There are multiple ways that you can do it, for instance, memorising notes, listening to lesson audios, flashcards and even tutoring. As time passes, our memories fade. That is why it is critical to review information on a regular basis. The more valuable or complex the information, the greater the effort required. It is crucial to go over everything you have learned. When you review information, you are bringing it back to mind and strengthening your brain's connections. You are starting to move from short-term to long-term memory. The more times you review the information, the easier it is to recall it, and the information becomes more long-term. You will never forget the information if you do not act quickly!Next, it is a common belief that it is best for you to jam pack everything you have learned. However, this could not be further from the truth. While studying by itself is a crucial step in acing your test, one must remember that just like how our body gets tired from overexercising, our brain is not an exception to tiredness. Students oftentimes overwork themselves by studying non-stop with the mindset that there is no such thing as over studying. It is common knowledge that students are always associated with sleep depravity. Bear in mind that when we are sleep deprived, our focus, attention, and vigilance deteriorate, making receiving information more difficult. Not sleeping is your worst enemy! When we think of productivity or effectiveness, we usually picture someone who is actively working rather than resting. Rest, on the other hand, is an important part of working well. Breaks, such as going for a walk or exercising, improve our alertness, focus, and motivation. They can help you avoid procrastination and decision fatigue. They help us be more productive and even creative. Working without taking breaks for an extended period of time can lead to burnout. Did you know that healthy minds live in healthy bodies? Never forget your breakfast. Ever heard of the saying ‘ Eat breakfast like a king’? Never underestimate the power of a good and healthy breakfast. According to research, students and pupils who eat breakfast perform better in exams. Slow-release carbohydrates, such as whole rolled porridge oats, whole grain bread, or low-sugar muesli, provide slow-release energy for the best breakfast. Add protein-rich food, such as milk, yoghurt, or eggs, to feel fuller for longer. Aim to include a portion of a food rich in long-chain Omega-3 fats, such as smoked mackerel, on exam day, as they are thought to have brain-boosting properties. Even though you might feel really nervous and anxious, make sure you eat a healthy and delicious breakfast on the day of the exam (or any other day). A nutritious breakfast fuels your body, balances your blood sugar levels, and speeds up your metabolism. Your brain requires water, fat, glucose, and vitamins to function properly. An iced coffee, doughnut, or energy drink will not suffice.Be sure that you know how to organise your time and yourself. Preparation is all about the timing. Doing things at the last minute is not much of a preparation now is it not? Exam preparation is all about taking your time. Rushing things out will only lead to unnecessary stress. While some students appear to thrive on last-minute cramming, it is widely acknowledged that this is not the best way to approach an exam. Create a timetable for your studies to help you manage your time. Make a list of the exams you have and the dates you have to take them. Then plan your research accordingly. You may want to devote more study time to some exams than others, so strike a comfortable balance.

How to Prepare for your Exams

By: Anis Athirah Bt. Muhamad RazuhanafiUtilizing a network and connecting via cable are two distinct concepts that the general public frequently confuses. Indeed, they are separated by a sliver of a line. All it takes is a careful analysis to notice that something is different. Many of those you believe are using cable to find work have actually networked their way to success and position through networking.Using cable is analogous to having nothing to offer and lacking the necessary skills for the job, but knowing someone who is extremely influential within a company or business and using them to gain entry.By contrast, utilising your network demonstrates that you are an expert in the field in which you work and that you are capable of providing a diverse range of services. Individuals who are familiar with you and your abilities in a specific field may spread the word. They can assist you in identifying opportunities that you might otherwise overlook. In its simplest form, networking can be defined as the exchange of information rather than the solicitation of favours.Another definition of networking is "establishing, developing, and maintaining long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with the people you meet." It was agreed that the most connected individuals are frequently the most successful. This is because networking can help you develop and improve your skill set, stay current on industry trends, keep an eye on the job market, and gain access to career development resources. Making connections with the right people at the right time could be the key to propelling your career forward. Many people believe that in order to build this network, they must attend numerous networking events or conferences, which can be time-consuming, awkward at times, and extremely exhausting if they are not an extrovert. However, networks can occur at any time and in any location. It is not necessary to be formal in order to gain network access. You can connect with others by simply browsing your LinkedIn profile, sending emails, or utilising another social media platform. Everything is within reach. All you have to do is widen your perspective. By believing that networking is self-serving, you are preventing yourself from developing a strategic network.Certain individuals believe networking makes them feel uneasy because it appears as though you are exploiting them. Networking is not, in fact, a self-serving activity. It benefitsboth parties involved, which is why the term ‘network’ refers to a mutually beneficial relationship in which both parties benefit. When is the best time to network our connection? It's a good question to ask because most of us do not know when is the best time to start networking. The answer is straightforward, and the best time to start a network is right now. You may believe that it is too early to begin networking and that you are therefore not looking for work, but keep in mind that nothing happens overnight. If you apply for a job, it does not guarantee that you will be hired the next day. That is not the case. That is why you should begin networking with everyone right away.It takes time to build relationships and connect with the right people and that you will never know who might be able to assist you in the future. Probably, the person you met today will turn out to be a valuable asset to you in the long run. Thus, keeping in touch with them is one of the small steps you must take to ensure your future success. To feel a sense of belonging, it is also necessary to connect with everyone on a global scale. Professional networking is essential for career advancement. Being seen and noticed is a critical benefit of networking in the development of one's profession. To gain more expertise, it is critical to network not only with locals but also with the global community. For example, if you are studying at a university with international students, take advantage of the opportunity to network with them because we never know how they will benefit us in the future. As a result, it is critical that we begin planning for the future at a young age and remember to be successful in our own manner.

Prepare for your future

By: Siti Hajar Mohd Zulkifli For many students in Malaysia, SPM (or its equivalent IGCSE, GCSE, GCE O-Level) is an important examination that defines ones future. Parents and students alike view SPM as a stepping stone to a brighter future. The first thing that someone would do after finishing their SPM would probably be, throwing their fist into the air but what's next after SPM?There are many pathways that one can choose from, from continuing your studies immediately, to taking a break to find and finalise your interests. There is no right or wrong path for any student; whichever path you choose, it should be something that fit into your future plans. When you don't have a plan however, deciding on a path can be extremely difficult. Pursuing your interests in high school can take many forms, but each skill you learn and experience you gain will help you build a stronger foundation for the future. Pursuing your interests early in life allows you to map out a clear path to a suitable college, degree programme, and career. Explore the things that make you happy and motivate you to do your best, and you will undoubtedly find the right career path for your skills. This serves as a reminder that there is no such thing as a wasted dream. Follow your instincts rather than what others expect of you. Getting information from others is a good first step in determining your path, but do keep in mind that you are the one going on this journey and not them. If you opt to pursue an academic path right after SPM, consider what ignites your enthusiasm. What excites you. Do you enjoy dealing with numbers? Is the fast-paced world of pop culture a source of stress for you? Perhaps you have a soft spot for young children and enjoy patiently answering their numerous questions. Make a list of everything you enjoy doing in your spare time and reflect on what you truly enjoy doing. Remember, it's not the same as what you think you'd like to do. Your result slip will also reveal your strengths and flaws. Concentrate on those and select a programme that allows you to perform what you do best. In Malaysia, there are multiple universities and colleges that will offer you amazing programmes and one of it is INTEC Education College that located at Section 17, Shah Alam. It is crucial to find a university that can help you with your desired programme the best. For instance, in conjunction with your interest, you can choose Pre-university, Diploma, Professional Accountancy at INTEC Education College. Below is one of the many lists of programmes that one can consider: nbsp;

A-Level

A-Level German

ADTP (American Degree Program)

SACEi / AUSMAT (Australian Matriculation)

Korean Preparatory Programme

Japanese Preparatory Programmes

ACCA

ICAEW

Diploma in Business Management

Diploma in Accounting

Diploma in Scientific Halal Practices

Diploma in Public Management and Governance

Diploma in Islamic Finance

After you've settled on your academic path, you may begin with your scholarship seeking quest. Tertiary education can be expensive, but you can alleviate your parents' financial strain by applying for a scholarship to pay for your studies instead. The avalanche of information available can be intimidating, so it's critical to start early and conduct some research on the scholarships available based on the courses or universities you are interested in. You may also be eligible based on your academic achievements, co-curricular achievements, or other specific needs. Applying early also ensures that you are informed of the application deadlines. This will give you plenty of time to prepare for an interview or compose a personal statement during your candidacy. Some of us may be ineligible for the scholarship. Fret not, you can still relieve your parents' financial strain by working part-time. Nothing is more productive than making some extra income for the time being. Look for part-time jobs that will allow you to work for a few months. A part-time job allows you to meet individuals from different walks of life. You will gain an advantage by learning vital life lessons that you will not learn in school. Although money is important, a part-time job gives you vital work experience that will help you build both your character and your skills. If you dislike clocking in and out of an office, you may check out freelance activities such as typing, writing, data entry, and so on, which are all easily available online. Apart from starting a part-time job after your SPM, you can also start something you've always wanted to do or learn, such as learning a new language or even learning to dance, by enrolling in short courses in your field of interest. Taking language training can be quite advantageous because many organisations are always looking for applicants who have experience working in a multilingual and multilingual environment. One of the most popular pre-university programmes in Malaysia is SACE International. It confers the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) on students, paving the way for them to attend world-class universities. After SPM, you can pursue SACE International, which is on par with other pre-university programmes like STPM, A-Level, and Foundation. However, just because you're working toward an Australian pre-university diploma doesn't mean you have to finish your degree in Australia. Both AUSMAT and SACE International are recognised both locally (at private universities only) and internationally, with universities in the USA, UK, and many parts of Asia participating. So rest assured that this certification will allow you to travel to many countries around the world. Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Vanuatu and New Caledonia currently offer the SACE programme. It is a versatile programme that can be tailored to your school's specific requirements. At INTEC Education College, SACE International arranges students to further their studies mainly in Australia and New Zealand. Students will receive the South Australian Certificate of Education if they complete the course successfully. Studying abroad has numerous advantages, including assisting you in finding a great job and improving your social life. However, when it comes to making a life-changing decision like studying abroad, you may have a lot of questions on your mind such as, “Is it worth it? Is studying locally just as good as studying overseas?”As technology improves, everything around us has drastically changed. Many things can be done digitally nowadays including studying and communicating. However, some things in my opinion can never be digitally replaced: the wisdom of studying in a foreign country and being away from home. When it comes to establishing roots in a new place, the first thing you will gain is experience. Keep in mind that life is both an opportunity and full of surprises. It is not always a bad thing to be away from home. Just like birds, we have to leave our nest one day. What is better than grabbing the chance to go somewhere new? Multiple pre-university courses in Malaysia offer students with such opportunities. For instance, at INTEC Education College, there are a total of 6 pre-university programmes that offer students a chance to pursue their degrees abroad. In Aristotle's ethical philosophy, "the importance of being experienced" is a central theme. A person with experience develops coping skills, an appropriate attitude, and a sense of the situation. Aristotle believes the body and soul are interdependent, implying a close relationship between human activity, cognition and character.Every country has unique teaching styles. Studying abroad can broaden your academic horizons and improve your ability to adapt to various educational environments. Adapting to different teaching styles also helps you acclimatise to different management styles, allowing you to be more versatile in the workplace. By studying abroad, you learn about new cultures, make friends from all over the world, and gain a global perspective while earning credits toward your degree. It will allow you to develop important skills such as intercultural communication, foreign language proficiency, adaptability and problem-solving. Language and culture are inextricably linked. What could be better than learning a new language and culture from native speakers? On the topic of career opportunities, studying abroad has been shown to develop skills that are valued by all employers. The ability to communicate effectively is one of the most important skills gained. You will also improve your presentation, public speaking, negotiating, academic writing and nonverbal communication. Even if you do not intend to work for an international employer or are unsure of your career goals, developing traits such as resourcefulness, adaptability, resilience and empathy will provide you with an enormous advantage in the job market. Studying abroad can help you launch your career by demonstrating to potential and current employers that you have the flexibility, resourcefulness and drive to adapt to a new environment.Last but not least is personal development. Studying abroad is one of the best ways to enhance your personal and professional development as well as growth opportunities. Spending time in another country has a huge impact on one's personality, especially when it comes to education. International educational experience fosters the development of many important and adaptable life skills. It exercises cognitive skills such as flexibility, creativity and complex problem-solving as well as social skills such as empathy and tolerance. It is not, however, without cost. Personal growth can be a difficult process. Being in an unfamiliar place for the first time, culture shock from the new environment may make you feel anxious. On the other hand, this is the beginning of gaining a new and expanded perspective and becoming a more open-minded individual. When you are exposed to a new culture, you need to find new ways of doing even small everyday things. You have to face new approaches to life and the world and cope with different languages, habits and behaviours. Since you are exposed to new information nearly every minute, your brain will be in high gear and you cannot help but think creatively and respond flexibly to upcoming challenges. This will also teach you how to manage stress in a safe environment. Like everything else in life, this life-altering decision has advantages and disadvantages. However, when it comes to broadening your horizons beyond what you have available, the benefits of studying abroad outweigh the drawbacks.

Studying Abroad: Culmination of Sacrifices?

Written by: Arisya HusnaBefore purchasing the best shoes, you need to know your intention in wearing them. Are you wearing it for casual, any occasion or a meeting? The same question needs to be asked before you apply to any preferred course. “I need to apply this to change my career.”“If I apply to this course, my boss will promote me to a better position.”Quite a number of students, workers and freelancers have doubt in choosing between these two well-known courses - Accounting degree vs Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Some would like to change into a new environment from an accountant to a chartered accountant. However, please consider the followings; If you want a promotion, you probably know your long-term goal. You should follow these steps:

Take a look at the gaps between your current knowledge and where you want to be.

Talk to your boss about which courses are relevant and could help you advance in your career.

Are there any necessary requirements for the career you want to pursue?

You may not know what to explore for a new career. You should follow these steps:

Find out what you're already good at and what you've done.

You should write down a list of five to six subject areas that interest you.

The prompt phase is deciding which course will usher you to the career you plan for. Students and workers who plan to further their studies will be in dilemma to choosing the best one. For instance, an Accounting degree is a university-awarded academic degree, whereas the ACCA is a professional accounting qualification conferred by an international body. Academic degrees are not called ‘ACCA’ for no reason. Takers can complete their ACCA after they graduate with their degree, but they are not allowed to do it the other way around unless there are no other options. Questions were thrown to some education advisors when the students are on the fence about which one is easier and which one is more difficult? An accounting degree is easier than ACCA because the level of difficulty rises slowly over the 3 years of study. Also, a degree in accounting isn't just a bunch of tests on paper; there are also grades for assignments and presentations. Unlike ACCA, the course is entirely paper-based as the subject material becomes exponentially difficult as an individual progresses from one to the other. Everyone requires more time to concentrate when the subjects/courses are challenging. How about the people who are currently employed? Chill out, relax and have an open mind! Do you know that you can be a part-time student for ACCA? The time for classes is flexible and it will not interrupt your working hours. Choosing to go for full-time or part-time courses will assist your initial intention. ACCA Modular is another quality initiative for workaholic students. Modular here means they participate during weekends as a part-timer. INTEC Education College offers ACCA Modular with the following benefits: -BPP Certified and Experienced tutors-Duration for 1 semester-Only on Saturday Online and Physical sessions at your preference!-WhatsApp group and video recording providedFor further inquiries, contact INTEC Education College Education Advisor;Hajar: 011 1015 1720Nevertheless, if the shoes fit your feet, walk until the end of the journey.

Written by Arisya HusnaAll youth are entitled to an education, but many have been denied this opportunity due to poverty. Human Rights Watch also found evidence of government responses that were poorly managed, poorly informed, under-resourced, and even discriminatory, all of which were rooted in educational systems that were structurally flawed and racially unequal. As a result, governments worldwide have a responsibility to improve their education systems and ensure that all youth have equal access. In Malaysia, where are the opportunity doors for these creatures to access education? Instead of asking where, how and what are the crucial inquiries for them. Thus, a tremendous initiative is developed by INTEC Education College to be the palace for the orphans and less fortunate youths. An Open Door to the Unprevilidged Youths

Depending on individual preferences, some students may find calculation fascinating, some students may find language enchanting. Nevertheless, choosing the ideal programme is not always rocket science! You may find yourself comparing two identical programmes from two institutions, or you may be tossing up between two completely different study fields. Therefore, here are some questions to ask yourself before you make the big decision:1. What are your strengths and weaknesses? It is extremely crucial to consider your interests and skills in choosing what to pursue. This very first question assists you in filtering out the field of studies and programmes that fit your personality the most. You need to acknowledge your biggest strength as it would push you far in the process of graduating and working. In the meantime, you also need to understand your weaknesses to ensure minimum struggles along the way. Thus, ask yourself about what comes naturally for you. For example, by going through your secondary school, you may have figured out your favorite and least favorite subjects. If you have always been exceptionally good in science subjects, you may want to consider healthcare, engineering, or any other science-related fields. Furthermore, one of the alternatives to determine the programme that fits your interest best is by doing an online self-assessment. You simply need to answer a few questions to begin browsing from a wide selection of possibilities for your preferred programme.2. Where do you want to study? The second question includes a much further perspective. Where do you want to study now and when furthering your study for higher education? The first part of the question can be answered by attending open days or university fairs to get insights of the programmes and universities from individuals with first-hand experiences such as education advisors, lecturers, and alumni. You may also take the time to visit university websites to explore the facilities and reputations. Furthermore, if you wish to further your study abroad for higher education, you may want to choose a pre-university programme accordingly. For example, if you wish to continue your study in the USA, you may want to consider the American Degree Transfer Programme at INTEC Education College which enables a one-year worth of credit transfer for your bachelor’s degree. You also may want to do some research on which country specialised in your preferred field of study. It may be a country with a city that has direct access to specific resources such as Australia being the world’s largest coral reef, perfect if you are interested in marine biology.3. What do you want to be?There is zero use in pursuing a programme unless it prepares you for a successful future. The third question is crucial to ensure you take into consideration the type of career you wish to pursue upon graduating. Some careers require you to have a certain qualification such as a professional qualification for Accountancy or a specialist qualification for Dentistry and Nursing. Therefore, it is important to know what course and qualification level you need for your preferred career. For example, if you are a high school leaver, you have ample time to prepare your study path from the beginning. Aim for a specific career and take into consideration the duration and costs of the study. This equips you with adequate knowledge and skill sets once you are a fresh graduate. Despite the significance of choosing a perfect programme, there is always a chance for you to switch interests as you grow and explore more options. Thus, if you feel unsure halfway through your journey, it is never too late to go back to the drawing board. Occasionally, a stitch in time saves nine! You do not want to spend the next five years inhaling the textbooks you have little to no interest in. Indeed, this decision-making process takes ample time, however, never feel like it is too late to restart from zero. You can always reach for assistance and talk to an education advisor. At INTEC Education College, the education advisors warmly offer helping hands if you wish for personal guidance.Find out more on opportunities with INTEC Education College by visiting us atwww.study.intec.edu.my or reach us at marketing.admission@intec.edu.my.

Questions to Ask Yourself Before Choosing the Right Programme

By Mohamad Ammar Bin Mohamad Jamel Greetings from INTEC Education College!Recently, with our strong partnership with ICDL Foundation, we have added an EXTRA CREDENTIAL to every student who studies Diploma, Pre-University & Professional Accountancy programme in our college. However, not many know what ICDL is.ICDL is the world’s leading computer skills certification with 16 million people engaged with the programme in over 100 countries! Many jobs now entail the use of technology. This requirement continues to grow, even in sectors considered traditional or non-technical. Online tools and mobile apps today perform a huge range of functions which were once paper based. The workplace is digital, and in today’s competitive environment, employers highly value digital skills. Having the certified ability to use devices and tools confidently and productively is an effective way for workers to set themselves apart.“… in the near future, 90% of jobs — in careers such as engineering, accountancy, nursing, medicine, art, architecture, and many more — will require some degree of digital skills.”— Andrus Ansip, European Commission Vice President for Digital Single Market, ‘Digital skills, jobs and the need to get more Europeans online’At INTEC, we believe with this credential, students will have higher marketability as ICDL is now recognized throughout Asia, aligned with the necessary important computer skills in many fields of work. Here, we offer few combinations of ICDL modules that we believe are the best for students to enroll such as:1. Application EssentialsThe Application Essentials module covers the main concepts and skills needed to start using common office productivity applications — documents, spreadsheets, and presentations — effectively.2. Project PlanningThe Project Planning module covers the main skills needed to use project management software when managing projects. This includes preparing, monitoring, and overseeing different elements of a project such as time, costs, tasks, resources, priorities, and collaborators.3. Digital MarketingThe Digital Marketing module covers the main concepts and skills of digital marketing, such as creating a web presence, optimizing content for search engines, using social media platforms, selling online, different types of advertising, as well as monitoring and improving campaigns using analytics. 4. Big DataThis module introduces Big Data, a term which relates to the management and analysis of sets of data that are typically too large for traditional data-processing software.ICDL Certification modules also introduce younger students to develop the digital skills for necessary for the studies and life. Besides, the implementation of ICDL into INTEC curriculum gives our students the edge of the modern workplace and as preparations for their future career. This is a much-added value for fresh graduates to get into the workplace. To further complement this, digital e-Badge and e-Certificate technology automates the process of modules verification. In today's competitive environment, fresh graduates and employers alike expect digital skills to be recognized by a credible digital badge and certificate. In addition, social sharing of digital badges drive referral, and the "stacking" of badges are common practice to illustrate skills accumulation and act as a strong credential to further learning. As always, THINK FUTURE THINK INTEC!Find out for more opportunities with INTEC Education College here.

You will experience a brand-new outlook which is fascinating however, it is not always all sunshine and rainbows. Entering a whole new country comes with a variance of beliefs, customs, and languages. It is due to the differences in behaviour and personality such as body language, manners, communication which may lead to miscommunication. The term “language barrier” includes the differences in proficiency barrier such as when a student struggles to understand another, technical barrier as when the use of professional jargon by experienced lecturers is misunderstood by students, cultural barrier such as the different views which could be normal or bizarre for two different people and physical barrier which includes physical impediments affecting both the ability to convey a message and understand the message. However, the bridge communication gap depends on you! Here are some of the ways to overcome the language barrier.1. Improve ProficiencyYour mother tongue may differ from the native language of the country. Especially if you are furthering your study in a non-native English-speaking country such as Germany, Korea, and Japan. Therefore, it is best for you to practice the country’s language! You may enrol in the target language lesson, or you may kill two birds with one stone by enrolling in an educational programme that includes the language as one of its’ subjects. For example, Korean Preparatory Programme at INTEC Education College prepares you educationally, both your preferred field of study and the Korean language and culture!2. Introduce Cultural ContextYou must not solely focus on vocabulary and grammar. In order to achieve native-like proficiency, you may learn the cultural differences between your mother tongue and the target language by deeply understand the lifestyles, norms, and common practices. By watching movies, reading books, or listening to the music of the target language, you can achieve a more excellent understanding of the culture!3. Use Various Methods of CommunicationYou may combine verbal and non-verbal communication for a more effective conversation! Utilise your body parts such as hands, facial expressions, or any visual aid to increase understanding. However, ensure to familiarise with any possible cultural faux pas to avoid discomfort or misunderstanding. Furthermore, there is no wrong in benefiting from today’s modern communication technologies such as translation applications and many more.Find out more opportunities with INTEC Education College by visiting us at www.study.intec.edu.my or reach us at: marketing.admission@intec.edu.my,

Overcoming Language Barrier Overseas

It’s been months since UPU released their results but are you still reeling from your application being rejected? Perhaps you’re waiting for the next UPU session, fingers still crossed for a chance to enroll in public universities? Or have you completely given up on your decision to continue your studies?Whatever it is, chin up! Because you still have a second chance to chase after your dreams!

Have you ever considered private universities?
Private universities are a great alternative option if you are looking for a second chance. Not convinced? Here’s a few reasons why private universities are worth considering:Practical coursesIn most public universities, they provide numerous courses from a wide range of fields. Private universities do not provide the broad range of courses like public universities; however, they are more focused on their own respective specialized fields.Courses in private universities tend to be more practical as private universities focus on preparing students for the workforce. One major aspect that separates private universities and a public university is the industry contacts and partners. Many private institutions work closely with different companies. Hence, students often have better chance to get hands-on experience outside classroom.International exposurePrivate universities have always had a higher international student enrolment compared to public universities. They also provide more international opportunities for their students to participate, either in international workshops or study abroad programs.Cross-cultural references and global perspective allow students to enhance and broaden their view of the world through wide lenses. By mingling with students from all walks of life and culture and being involved with global programs, studying at private universities is a great choice to grow and expand your worldviews.Easy entryTo enroll in a private university, the procedure is really easy. Unlike public universities where the competition is insanely tight, private universities are subjected to seat availability. Basically, as long as you meet the necessary requirements for your desired course, your place is almost certainly secured.

So, which private university should you consider?
Having been in operation for more than 38 years, INTEC enjoys the excellent reputation for producing well-rounded graduates and outstanding professionals, by equipping excellent students with preparation for overseas education.INTEC is now a pioneer educational provider for Pre-university studies, Diploma and Professional Accountancy Programmes, and they’re inviting you to enrol in their upcoming January intake! Still, INTEC’s examination passing rate is above world rate despite the current pandemic situation. Private universities are a great alternative route for students still seeking a chance to pursue their higher education.

Second Chances with Private Universities

According to Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) CEO, Dr Nurmazilah Mahzan in March 2018 Malaysia edition of Accounting and Business magazine, there are currently just over 33,000 members registered with MIA. This number is relatively low compared to 60,000 professional accountants targeted by the government, to ensure that Malaysia will become a developed nation by 2020.Many initiatives have been taken by the government to achieve the target of 60,000 accountants by 2020. Thus, INTEC had taken the opportunity to offer professional accounting programmes such as CAT, ACCA, CFAB and ICAEW and MICPA.
