The year 2024 signals a stronger-than-anticipated aviation industry performance, boosted by significant industry development and expansion. Industry experts forecast consistent air traffic growth, both locally and globally. Malaysian industry experts similarly predicted a surge in all aspects of the industry. Excitingly, Malaysia has remained among the top five industry players in ASEAN, mainly due to Kuala Lumpur International Airport ranking third among the major airports in ASEAN. The public’s role is to understand the noticeable changes in the industry. The post-covid stigma of a bleak future in the aviation industry should no longer influence us. The whole world was affected, and no one was spared. However, it should also be noted that the world is gradually recovering from the rerepercussionsOur shared responsibility now is to ensure the industry's booming growth. With collective effort, we would be able to reap the fruits of our labour, which will be even sweeter after the privations. The year 2024 has definitely seen some success stories. Malaysia Airlines has recorded an RM766 million profit, its first profit after a decade. Singapore Airlines recorded a S$2.67 billion profit, rewarding its staff with an 8-month salary bonus.A strong recovery emphasises the intense needs of the Malaysian industry. It is time for us to work together to ensure Malaysia is fully- equipped with skilled and trained aviation personnel. There is a demand for a skilled workforce, as illustrated in job vacancy advertisements. We should no longer be influenced by the irrelevant view that working in the aviation industry brings us nowhere. It brings us everywhere. The aviation industry opens up a whole set of new possibilities: on the ground and up in the sky. It is rewarding: high salary, travelling opportunities, an exclusive working culture and good character building. Training institutions must play a pivotal role in training potential personnel with the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude. The aviation industry demands individuals who are competent in aircraft maintenance, aviation management and airline operation. This is where Admal Aviation College meets the above demands, demonstrated by the industry’s recruitment of Admal graduates and trainees. Admal Aviation College is an approved training organization for CAAM Part 66 Licensed Aircraft Engineer for Cat B1.1 Aeroplane Turbine, Cat B2 Avionics and Cat A1 Aircraft Maintenance.Admal is also the credited training institution for a Diploma in Aviation Business (DAB), a Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Technology (DAMTECH) & Diploma in Aviation Management with Private Pilot Licensing (DAMPPL). Not only that, Adma offers Aircraft Ground Handling Technician (AGHT), Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) & Cabin Crew and Airline Services (CCAS). Admal is ready to e bark with you in your aviation journey as intake is opened throughout the year.It is time for experienced personnel to help train the young and for the young to seize the opportunity to learn from industry experts.

Year 2024 signals a stronger-than-anticipated aviation industry performance, boosted by significant industry development and expansion.

The Booming of Aviation Industry: Tackling Manpower Demand

When the pandemic first struck, hundreds of flights were grounded and airports all over the world closed their doors. With vaccinations now rolling out, Malaysia’s recovery plan has been set in motion and is progressing.Soon, we can look forward to visiting friends and family, crossing borders and travelling to other countries again. When that happens, the aviation industry is expecting a boom in business – and aviation graduates will be very much in demand. Here are five reasons why you should become a pilot today:1. Professional License Personnel Shortage after Covid-19 According to management consulting company, Oliver Wyman, and United Airlines, there will be a pilot shortage after the pandemic. This is already seen in countries that have opened its borders and the pilot shortage will continue to grow as more countries start allowing international travel. It is predicted that there will be a global shortage of 30,000 pilots and could increase to as high as 50,000 by 2025. North America, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East will see the most extensive shortage of pilots. Along with the pilot shortages, the trend is also likely to affect Licensed Aircraft Maintenance personnel.2. You'll Gain a New Respect for the World Around You – and the Flying MachineIf you’ve ever been on an airplane, you’ll know instantly the magnificence and beauty of soaring high above the clouds. You’ll understand the freedom that flying gives, allowing you to visit numerous places all over the globe with a much shorter travel time than many of our forefathers. Now, imagine flying from the cockpit and being in control. As a pilot, you’ll gain a new understanding and realisation on the magnitude of flight and the privilege of being a pilot. Up there, the world really is your oyster.4. You'll Join an Elite GroupThe people in the aviation industry are of a different breed. Pilots are well respected; engineers are highly appreciated for what they do; and technicians are admired for their skill. When you join the aviation industry as a pilot, you instantly join a community that transcends national borders and cultures. As a new pilot, you are welcomed into the family by colleagues who will embrace, help, support and encourage you throughout your journey. It’s a bond that is made not by blood, but by comradeship.5. 5 Careers You Can Pursue in the Aviation Industry

In less than four months, COVID-19 has changed the global economy forever. Just as mankind has survived wars, natural disasters and economic crises, things will eventually get better again, and people will soon forget them as normality resumes. However, there will be some changes in society due to our current crisis that will continue to linger even when the health and economic COVID-19 pandemic is over in hopefully a couple of years. While many industries were hit hard by COVID-19, here are Malaysia’s most in-demand jobs after COVID-19.
Potential job of logistics and ground handling in aviation during COVID-19
Among the most in demand industries to look out for is definitely aviation. But aviation is so big, right? Well, these two fields in particular means that the gradual shift to reclaiming back the economy will result in most organizations related to aviation looking to hire!Unlike commercial air travel, aviation logistics and ground handling are necessary to sustain the economy without endangering lives in the midst of a pandemic. In fact, as reported by global airlines in the last decade (Typical North American, 2019), cargo produced three times first class revenues and very close to business class revenues – confirming the fact that international flights were not profitable without the cargo contribution! So what are the two fields we’re talking about? Aviation logistics refers to the ability to efficiently move either cargo over large distances by air. Therefore, in aviation, logistics workers direct the acquisition, distribution, and delivery functions of an organization. Basically, you observe logistics in action any time you purchase a product.Ground handling, meanwhile, is the wide range of services provided to facilitate an aircraft flight or aircraft ground repositioning, preparation for and upon conclusion of a flight which will include both customer service and ramp service functions. Ground handling includes the staff that handle your tickets, your check-ins, your baggage alongside other operations!
So,
what is the job scope and salary rate?
For logistics, the field of aviation logistics is so large that almost any business organization may be viewed as a potential employer for a logistics graduate. For instance, those firms specializing in the movement of goods and people by air, and the large numbers of companies that support them, represent the area of aviation logistics. Some examples of aviation logistics jobs are:Air Traffic ControllerAn air traffic controller directs traffic in the air and on the ground. When you’re put on the spot to think of jobs related to aviation, the first thing that pops to your mind would probably be pilots or flight attendants. Aviation is considered a niche industry or profession, so on the surface it may seem difficult for graduates of this field to obtain jobs in the future. Despite this, aviation is a growing industry in Malaysia and more students are pursuing the field in their higher education. Yet, unemployment among graduates still remains a problem. The unemployment issue could also be due to the institutions themselves not having the recognition or authorisation from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), formerly known as Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia (DCAM) Effectively on 19th February 2018, Department of Civil Aviation of Malaysia (DCAM), a government agency under the Ministry of Transport was incorporated into a statutory body known as Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (‘CAAM’). Functions of the DCA are currently carried out by the CAAM as the sole civil aviation technical regulator in Malaysia with the primary function to regulate the safety and security of civil aviation. With the number of aviation institutions rising, not all have the CAAM authorisation. Employers would certainly feel more secure hiring potential employees who have graduated from recognised institutions. Why Is the CAAM Authorisation Important for Aviation Institutions? As stated by former Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, CAAM's responsibilities include safeguarding civil aviation operations in the country, exercising safety regulatory oversight of the civil aviation and regulate the operation of aerodrome services and facilities in Malaysia.Aviation institutions authorised by the CAAM are guaranteed to have high-quality teaching. As mentioned above, employers would be more confident in hiring graduates from institutions with such an authorisation.
What Are the Types of Aircraft Maintenance Licenses (AML)?The types of Aircraft Maintenance Licenses (AML) are as follows:

Category A (Aircraft Maintenance Technician)

A1 (Aeroplane Turbines)

A2 (Aeroplane Piston)

A3 (Helicopter Turbine)

A4 (Helicopter Piston)

Category B1 (Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical)

B1.1 (Aeroplane Turbines)

B1.2 (Aeroplane Piston)

B1.3 (Helicopter Turbine)

B1.4 (Helicopter Piston)

Category B2 (Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Avionics)

B2 (Avionics)

Where Should You Pursue Your Studies in Aircraft Maintenance?Admal Aviation College prides itself on being a college with its own fleet of 14 aircrafts. On top of that, Admal Aviation College is the only Part-147 Approved Training Organization that is also a CAAM Part-145 Approved Maintenance Organization.Apart from its organisational status, the college is setup to act in compliance with both the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MoHE) and the CAAM requirements for its education and training approval.Their Diploma programme is recognized by the MoHE and accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).At Admal, students would learn from experienced instructors, aircraft technicians, and Licensed Aircraft Engineers.
